Welcome to the XXIII International RESER Conference
Finding growth through service activities in barren times
September 19th-21st 2013, Aix en Provence, France
The European Association for Research on Services, RESER, will hold its 23rd International Conference in Aix en Provence, France.
The conference theme, "Finding Growth through Service Activities in Barren Times", addresses the role and impact of service activities in driving growth in times of economic downturn, as well as the main challenges encountered by service organizations, both in the private and public sectors, locally and internationally. The RESER conference is a multidisciplinary forum, where researchers in management, economics, sociology, geography and many other disciplines meet to share the latest advances in research on services.
On its 23rd anniversary, the RESER conference is back to Aix en Provence, seventeen years after it was last organized there. The historical city was founded in 123 BC by the Romans. As a roman thermal station, a center for political and judiciary institutions as well as universities, a dynamic touristic spot and with a strong software and ICT industry, the city has a long tradition of services. It also has an important tradition of service research, with the first Master degree on service management in France (1982) and the origin of the Servuction model.
The conference will be hosted by Aix Marseille University, the largest French-speaking university and one of France's oldest higher education institutions (founded in 1409). It is organised by the Center for Studies and Research on Management of Aix Marseille (CERGAM).
The RESER council and the local organizing committee wish you a warm welcome and hope to see you in Aix en Provence!
